Not The Singer But The Song (Bishoff/Lonetree) Between a laugh and a tear, a heart-beat and a breath We live the sweet life and we die the sweet death We come and we go, nothing lasts for long Only the dream, not the singer but the song I met a holy man on a vanishing trail He was close to the fire, withered and frail I said where are you going? He said my time is done As he smiled a soft smile and walked into the sun The dreamers dream a world without end But this moment is all that we have, my dear friend The soul is a song and the song shall go on Only the dream, not the singer but the song And so we hear laughter, sweet, sweet laughter We see through this world into the hereafter We see the bone beneath the flesh, the ghost of the smile We see all that matters now won't matter in a while I stepped into the night to breath the cool desert air I saw this world is all a church and this life is but a prayer And the church has no walls and the sky goes on and on The dream not the dreamer not the singer but the song And all of history is only written in the sand For the waves to wash away and erase from the land All things must pass nothing lasts for long Only the dream not the singer but the song

Lorelei 03:44
Lorelei Her- In love anyone can drown In water anyone can fly Come down to the bottom with me baby Come down and dance with Lorelei Him- How dark and still the waters lie How sweet the voice of Lorelei And though I never heard a sweeter song I fear you mean to do me wrong Her- How could you doubt me so? True as the river my love does flow And I would never do you wrong Come lay with me where you belong Him- Lorelei save your breath You offer naught but lies and death I hear the ghosts of sailors cry Do not trust in Lorelei Her- The ghosts of dead sailors lie And know not the heart of Lorelei These words that I sing to you This heart, this soul, this love is true Him- What treasures neath these water lie Deep in the soul of Lorelei? These words you sing if they be true If you want me then I want you Her- Baby would I lie to you? My heart is pure, my words are true These waters flow deep and clear There is no danger for you here Him- What devilry at work is this? And by a siren's song bewitched I'm crashed upon a rock to die I'm wrecked upon you Lorelei Yes crashed upon a rock to die I'm drowning in you Lorelei

Southern Lights I see those southern lights And I know I'll be home soon The silver sea dances In the light of the full moon The wind is up I've got the harbour in my sights Sailing through a summer dream Towards those southern lights Chorus These are the times to remember These long Indian summer nights Drifting on a sea of dreams Towards those southern lights I see those southern lights And I know it won't be long A wild wind dances up Out of the south, blowing strong Magdalena and her garden Of heavenly delights Waits for me on the other side Of those southern lights Chorus I see those southern lights Blazing in the summer sky Mother Ocean carry me To where still waters lie On a windswept beach Where the river meets the sea There's a woman I love And she's waiting there for me Chorus

The Moon In the Water In my life I've run from the tiger I never knew he was only made of paper It seems the monkey never learns Still I'm reaching out for the moon in the water Yeah I know I've made a lot of work for you girl But I could walk a straight line for a while Instead of running from paper tigers And reaching out for the moon in the water Oh no babe, here I go again I'm still a fool for you, but you know I love you So I come running with hope in my heart And reaching out for the moon in the water

Long over the prairie the shadows lay The fields of switchgrass and wild rye fade to grey The plovers wheel and the cotton-tails play Where we lie together in the heat of the day So strange the colours of this land and sky So mournful the sound of the Falcon’s cry So low the clouds in the gullies lie So deep the mystery that shines in her eyes Chorus American Girl She says, ‘Boy you're a stranger in a strange land But if you'd know me at all, if you'd understand Then let me walk you through this country. Come! Take my hand For my soul is the soul of this land’ Chorus So with the faith of a child I offer her my hand I tell her ‘Show me the heart and soul of this land I want to touch your earth, I want to understand The soul of a woman, the soul of a land’ Chorus

Sun-dancer 03:22
Sun Dancer Chorus Though the hooks drive deep And don't tear away easy Though the pain is strong Sun dancer, tear yourself free Though the blood still runs And the sun is yet thirsty Sun dancer keep dancing Till you tear yourself free Though only ghosts dance now At wounded knee Sun dancer keep dancing Till you tear yourself free Though hate blinds their eyes The wise still see Keep a hold of the vision And set yourself free Many heroes have hung Lashed to the tree Be strong and keep pulling Till you tear yourself free Chorus (Repeat)

If You Fall 05:13
If You Fall Hard is the living This life into which we are hurled Yes hard is the living And sorrow is all the world Long is the road And who knows where it goes And though many will try and tell you No-one really knows But though we don't know where we're going And though the road is so long Baby, my hands are steady And my arms are strong Chorus And If you fall I'll carry you Carry you Carry you on Dark is the valley Through which we must go Maybe there's a home for us somewhere, But baby I don't know So we build within our hearts Something nothing can destroy And between us and this savage world We hold a song of joy Chorus Deep burns the hunger That never lets us be Maybe there's a world beyond all this burning Where we might be free Hard falls the rain And bitter the wild winds blow We beat a path against the storm Through summer fire and winter snow Chorus

Such is Life 07:16
Such Is Life (Bishoff/Lonetree) Bail up you bugger bail up Or these pistols will start talking Now that's a fine bay-mare you have there sir And I know you won't mind walking It's well fed loafers just like you Who keep good people down So bail up fat man, bail up We're robbing this here town You money men who fence this land And run the rail-lines through Shall pay in gold and silver When I catch up with you Chorus So fire away and fire away You cannot hurt me You shoot children you mongrels But you cannot shoot me It was them or us at Stringybark They should have dropped their guns It was a bloody pity The bastard had to run Irish blood upon the soil And hell-fire in the sky I hear the traps wailing I hear the Banshee cry "The Kelly's have escaped again" Poor selectors all did cheer "Them good ol' boys are welcome Any time around here" Hurrah for the good old times Of Morgan and Ben Hall I'm not afraid to die my boys Not afraid at all Chorus So fire away and fire away you cannot hurt me We're wild colonial boys And soon we shall be free The train pulled into the station And the guns began to roar the withering fire of forty Returned by only four I am in iron, Ned cried And shooting from the hip With Martini Henry's the traps replied "It's the adjectival bunyip" Condemned to hang and never to see His ma, nor a child nor a wife When they stood him on the gallows Ned merely muttered, "such is life"

Wind-rider 03:25
Wind Rider The sun rises red on the high desert plain Above the roar of the wind I call out her name She comes running, wild wind blowing in her hair Out of the rising sun like an answered prayer I put my hands in the white paint I put my hands on the black horse I put my faith in the lady Cause she knows the way Chorus Wind Rider come carry me home I like to dream with you beneath a southern sky Wind Rider come carry me home I always believed that you and I could fly Bridge I’ve journeyed far on this vanishing trail Too far to go back alone Wind Rider Come carry me home Now I’ve got no fools around me, one, two, three Only the long horizon stretching away endlessly And my freedom is all that ever mattered to me And this feeling of love in my heart for all of my kin Now there is nowhere at all that I’ve got to be And nothing in this world’s got a hold on me And this life, this glory, glory life Is but a dream to me Chorus Under the big sky on the high desert plain Where the wind never stops and the sky never rains She is flying now, with the wind in her mane Kicking up dust on the high desert plain
